Principal's Message

ALL students can LEARN!!! If students can’t LEARN the way we TEACH, then TEACH the way they LEARN. This is my educational philosophy. My name is Leroy Hamilton, Jr., and I am honored to serve as the new principal of Arcadia High School. I am a graduate of Pineview High School and Grambling State University. I have a BS degree in Computer Information Systems and Business Management. My Master’s degree is in Educational Leadership. I am entering my 16th year in education with 8 of those years being in administration. I am looking forward to having an awesome year at Arcadia High School.

This 2020-2021 school year is going to be unique, challenging, and exciting! COVID-19 has brought many issues, but not many solutions. At this point, there are so many questions needing answers. As a district, community, and school, we will take our time and make decisions in the best interest of our children and families. School will not look nor operate in a traditional manner, but the faculty and staff at Arcadia High School will make sure students are given the opportunity to learn.

The faculty at Arcadia High School has been working hard and engaging in meaningful professional development this summer to prepare for the return of our students. If we return to school on a traditional, hybrid, or all virtual model, we will be prepared to properly educate our students. Our students will be trained to use chromebooks, utilize digital platforms, and access online curricula. We are strongly encouraging parental involvement and communication.  We are looking for opportunities to build the bridge between home and school. We realize that a positive relationship between home and school increases the chances of students being successful.

I am excited about the opportunity to establish and build relationships with all stakeholders. I would like to thank all parents, guardians, and students for being patient as we continue to put together an educational plan to ensure the safe return of our students, faculty, and staff. We are going to have a productive year, and thanks for allowing me to be a HORNET!

Leroy Hamilton, Jr., Principal
